Scope and Content

FOIA 2014-0224-F requested materials sent to, sent by, or received by President George W. Bush related to Hamdan v. Rumsfeld from January 2002 to December 2006.
This FOIA primarily contains general correspondence, public court records, barcode scanning sheets, hand-written notes, news clippings and press releases. Also included are a copy of the appeal from the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, a schedule of congressional events regarding Hamdan, an agenda for a meeting with the Chief of Staff regarding Hamdan, a statement before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary by Steven G. Bradbury, routine informational memoranda concerning congressional activity related to Hamdan from White House staff to the President, correspondence between Congress and the White House, a summary of the Supreme Court decision in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, and a transcript of the June 12, 2006 episode of “The O’Reilly Factor” featuring a report on Guantanamo.
