The Collections Guide for researching textual materials in the Library's archive provides more detailed descriptions about each series.
We encourage researchers to contact the Library before making a research visit. See the Plan a Research Visit page for further information.
The White House Office of Records Management (ORM) manages the office files of individual White House staff members, as well as administration records that are arranged by subject code and case file ID number according to their general subject matter. Some series are fully available for research. Otherwise, individual folders have been opened during systematic processing.
Unless noted by a PDF icon, some or all of the material in FOIAs has been digitized and is viewable online. Links to series without digitized material will open the Finding Aid. To search within digitized records, please visit the National Archives Catalog. Material that has been processed but has not been digitized can be requested via a reproduction order for a fee. Contact the archives staff for more information.
