Scope and Content

This series includes invitations, menus, programs, and cards created by the Calligraphy Office for events hosted by the White House. These materials were produced by the White House in large quantities and the items in the Printed Ephemera series represent a sample of the materials that were left over from White House events. At least three copies of each item were sampled for this collection, unless fewer were located during processing. Some materials in this series were hand-painted and copies of such items may appear in various stages of completion.
